Redlight Therapy

This therapy uses red low-level wavelength light via light-emitting diodes (LEDs); low-level means this is not a laser treatment.  Our Illuminate red-light panels have an array of 1800 LEDs, supplying sufficient intensity for an effective treatment in only 5 minutes.

Red light therapy uses red, low-level wavelengths of light (red hue) to penetrate the skin and promote healing and rejuvenation. It can heal and restore cells like the sun, but without harmful UV rays.

The Illuminate is built to stimulate different cells in the body. They absorb light wavelengths, creating a build-up of energy that improves skin healing, boosts new cell growth, and enhances the rejuvenation of the skin.

The light activates the mitochondria in the body’s cells, accelerating ATP production and therefore boosts cellular recovery and restoration. Red light therapy supercharges your cells with the energy to rebuilds collagen for younger looking skin, to boosts the immune system, and to reduces pain and inflammation without the need for medication or surgery. Benefits include improved skin texture, tone, and muscle growth. It can be used to improve acne, redness, wrinkles, scars, pain & inflammation.

Research articles on the benefits:

  • The absorption of red/near-infrared light energy, enhances mitochondrial ATP production, cell signaling, and growth factor synthesis, and attenuates oxidative stress. Clinical trial evidence exists to support the use of low-energy red/near-infrared light as a safe and effective method of skin rejuvenation, treatment of acne vulgaris and alopecia (PMID: 35043142)

  • Skin responds well to red and near-infrared light wavelengths. The photons are absorbed by mitochondrial chromophores in skin cells, improving electron transport, adenosine triphosphate nitric oxide release, blood flow, reactive oxygen species increase, and activate signaling pathways. Activation of stem cells by red light, allows increased tissue repair and healing. Low-level red light has beneficial effects on wrinkles, acne scars, hypertrophic scars, and healing of burns. It can reduce UV damage both as a treatment or preventive measure. Disorders such as vitiligo can see increased pigmentation by stimulating melanocyte proliferation which reduces depigmentation (PMID: 24049929)
